Birding Walk - Pine Flat Road
This Saturday, May 14th, the Napa-Solano Audubon Society will be birding a Sonoma County hotspot, Pine Flat Road. They will only be birding parts of the 11 miles of paved road. The road goes through chaparral, grassland, and mixed forest offering a wide species mix. Northern Pygmy Owl, Lazuli Bunting, Grasshopper Sparrow, California Thrasher, various flycatchers, and breeding birds are just some of the species they will be looking for. Weather is forecast for the eighties and some moderate grades are present, so dress accordingly and bring water and a snack.
Meet at the corner of Alexander Valley Rd and Pine Flat Rd at 8:00 am. We anticipate finishing by around 1pm.
A Napa carpool will depart the eastside of Sweeny’s Sports at 6:45 am with a return to Sweeny’s at around 2pm.
For questions please contact the leader (Andrew) directly – ajf51@humboldt.edu

NOTE: Car-poolers will share driving expenses, so bring some small bills if you plan to carpool. We also encourage a small donation for the trip leader to help offset his costs.
