Napa Solano Audbon Society's Weekly Walk: Bird Watching
Enjoy the shade of Martha Walker Native Plant Garden, search for fledglings in the trees along the parking lots, then head for a short walk into the hills before the day gets hot.
Terrain: Paths are smooth granite, however there will be some hills in the second half of the walk, and the decomposed granite can be slippery when walking up and down hills. A walking stick would be helpful.
Facilities: There are bathrooms at the start of the hike.
NOTES: There is a per car entrance fee. Last time I went, I believe it was $6.
Carpool Instructions and Departure Times:
Carpools are participant-organized; NSAS leaders will not necessarily be present. Carpools should depart the meeting location at the suggested time, so be early if you want to share a ride! There is no guarantee that there will be another individual arriving at the car pool location. Below is a list of the three suggested car pool locations and suggested times of departure.
Napa Carpool

Sweeny’s Sports Store, 1537 Imola Ave West, Napa
Meet on the EAST SIDE of Sweeney's Sport Store in the Riverpark Shopping Center.
Cordelia Carpool
Depart: 7:30
Solano Education Building, 5100 Business Center Drive, Fairfield
Soon after you get onto Business Center Drive, turn right into the parking lot for the Education Building.
Vallejo Carpool
Depart: 7:30
Baskin-Robbins, 5182 Sonoma Blvd, Vallejo
At the intersection of Sonoma Blvd. & Meadows Drive, turn east into the shopping plaza (previous Wal-Mart location).
NOTE: Car-poolers will share driving expenses, so bring some small bills if you plan to carpool. We also encourage a small donation for the trip leader to help offset his costs.
